Newport Beach Boat Parade is a longstanding city tradition

The annual Newport Beach Boat Parade is a highlight of the holiday season! Each year about 100 private boats, yachts, canoes, kayaks and most recently paddle boards join in the festivities. The parade began in the early part of the century when Italian immigrant John Scarpa  transported passengers across the bay on a gondola illuminated with Japanese lanterns. Since then it has grown into a favorite holiday tradition viewed by many Southern Californians.  The 106th parade begins December 17th and runs through December 21st from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
